If you write "holocaust" (small letter h) then you could mean any mass killing or genocide - there is one going on in Darfur right now.

If you write "Holocaust" (large H) then this is customarily taken to mean the genocide perpetrated upon Jews in Nazi occupied Europe until 1945. On that subject David l - above - makes good points.

The holocaust is not over yet.

There are still a few survivors alive whose personal damage remains to be dealt with each day. There are also the children of the survivors, many of whom have deep personal problems as a result of their parents' distress. Their pain remains.

As an aside, Liviu Librescu, who was killed at Virginia Tech the other day while trying to delay the killer so his students could escape, was a survivor. May his name be remembered with respect.

For as long as Jews are persecuted and attacked for the mere fact of their existence, the holocaust continues. During the 1930s and 40s the Arabs joined the Nazis in the call for racial extermination. The worst of the Jew baiters was the Mufti of Jerusalem, who spent the war years in Berlin as a propagandist for the Axis.

Until being born a Jew is not an offense the holocaust will not end.

The holocaust ended in 1945 when World War 2 was about to end, at the time when the Nazis lost power in Germany.

In 1945 when the U.S. and the Soviet Army liberated the remaining Holocaust survivors from the concentration camps.

World War II ended in Europe with the unconditional surrender of German armed forces in the west on May 7 and in the east on May 9, 1945.

The word HOLOCAUST is a Greek translation from the Hebrew OLAH, meaning the penis going up into an erection. If you know Greek you find it in the SEPTUAGINT translation of the Hebrew. Hence it never ends. It goes up and it goes down depending on the spirit of JEHOVAH who runs it. You can get all the semantics in the Swedish journal PORNOCAUST.
