When I click on a website a different one appears?

When I type in a search on yahoo or google etc. and I click on a website something totally different comes up. Quite often a site called "monster directory"

I have done virus check from mcAfee and also from spybot and everything seems to be okay...

Any suggestions as to what is happening?

P.S. Yahoo is my home page and I can access things from this or my yahoo mail. I am at a total loss........

Update:

Well I just tried that site and the whoele page just closed up on me......... What should I do now??

most probably this is because of a adware that got installed and hijacked your browser. use Spybot Search and Destroy to fix this issue.

The web site you wanted to view might just a web site that just redirects to another. or if it is all of the websites you click on you might have a virus or something like it that the virus scaners cant pick up.

It is possible that the results you receive on Google, Yahoo or any other search engine are the byproduct of spammers who create sites to look legitimate, but whose purpose is simply to misdirect users to directory style sites where they can profit from advertising placement.

Clear your browsers personal history, cookies, and files. If still no luck, download http://www.download.com/3000-8022_4-10701900.html

and install it, and update, than run in safe mode (press f8 a couple times when your computer starts). Still no luck, run high jack this, and post a log for somebody to review.

Probably a browser hi-jack. Search for and download hijackthis.exe. Run the program and delete the suspect lines.

It seems it is a Browser Hijack. Check your System with a good anyspyware.
