It's D. -7-3 = -10. 5-(-2) = 7.

Take it in individual sections... y2-y1 is (-7-3) which is -10.

x2-x1 is (5--2)... double negative is a positive, so 5+2, which is 7.

So, -10/7 is the real question... Which is -1.4285714.

Don't you just input the numbers into the correct variables of your equation? If so, it looks like this...

1: (-7-3)/(5- -2)

2: (-10)/(5+2)

3: (-10)/(7)

4: This equals to -1.428571429...

-10/7

(y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1) = a

((-7) - (3)) / ((5) - (-2)) = a

-10 / 7 = a

Your answer is -10/7. Or (d)

Just do (-7 - 3) / (5+2) which will give you answer D
