Uglies is a really good book. I read it for book group last year and it was AMAZING! It's about theis future, high tech society where everyone gets a plastic surgery to become 'Pretty' on their 16th birthday. But Tally Youngblood has just befriended Shay, right after her best friend Peris becomes Pretty, essentially leaving her behind in Uglyville. But Shay isn't so sure that she wants to become Pretty. So Shay runs away, and a branch of government whom Tally had never heard of threatens Tally with all chances of becoming Pretty if she doesn't try to find Shay and betray her.

Then Wicked is awesome. Pretty much it's just what happened in Oz before Dorothy came. It's AMAZING!!!
