Circles are a symbol of the Goddess.
Circles are found in many things which also relate to the Goddess such as the Moon, fruit, apples which relate to the Goddess Kore, Peresphone in one of her many forms.
There are several different methods of casting a circle. Some of which are elaborate, and each depends upon the specific tradition which you practice. My method is simple and spontaneous and doesnt involve a lot of premeditation
narrow minded has to be a certain way attitude of thinking.
You should research it if your a pagan and decide for yourself what works for you.
Each element represents one of the four corners, the four seasons, and the four directions.
As to if I have a favorite part.....I really dont know if I do.....
I havent thought about it much, I like the whole process.....especially anything involving the use of water.
You should before calling on any diety in Paganism, research it first, so that you have an idea of what your doing.
Always pay close attention to the opening and closing of the circle. At the point its closed, nothing can enter it, that you dont allow there, as its sacred ground on which you stand.
I also have to add you should never call or summon a diety but invite them into your space.
Six words of the Eclectic Rede attest
Take what works, can the rest
(For Lab Grl: I am Not New Age, eclectic and I dont appreciate being insulted in that manner. .)
(There is a difference between the New Age, and Eclectic Wicca and Paganism. If you had really studied for 20 years, I would expect you to understand the New Age movement is even younger than the Wiccan one.)
<As you can see Wicca has only been around since 1954, so its relatively new. There are a lot of older Pagan religons, Hinduism and Buddhism for example are both a lot older, and both of these are Pagan.>
Accusing someone who is eclectic of being New Age is like
accusing someone who is American of being Christian just because most people who are American are.
Some people who are ecclectic are New Age Practioners. I am not. If I was, that is what I would call myself.
The main belief in the New Age movement is the belief in the Age of Aquarius, that man is Co Creator of the Universe, and that man has to work in cooperation with God to bring on a New Glorious Age.
The term "New Age" refers to the "Aquarian Age" which, according to New Age followers, is dawning. It is supposed to bring in peace and enlightenment and reunite man with God. Man is presently considered separated from God not because of sin (Isaiah 59:2), but because of lack of understanding and knowledge concerning the true nature of God and reality.
Well let me just say in short, New Age practioners devleloped the movement in a response to Christianity to try and change the church and it has biblical principles....including the Isiah passage in it.
I totally reject the bible So I am not a New Age Pracitioner.
<<I apologize for posting the Christian Apolegetics website, that was an error on my part, and the wrong link. I removed it. when it was pointed out to me, because that was really not my intention at all.
Because someone emailed me and pointed it out as well as asked, where I got this about the New Age Movement from. All the friends I have had who were in the New Age movement believed this way, and several of the books I have read say this. When I was taught about it by these people who tried to get me to practice it, this was what they said, so unless they were liars....point made.>>
