Because wealth moves from higher concentration/level to lower concentration/level wealth or investment moves from other sectors to sectors where investment is dilute (investment to returns ratio is less). Please study how matter moves from higher concentration to lower concentration. Think that a cycle tube bursts, air moves out from the tube even though atmosphere contains more air than the tube. Similarly when hot water is mixed with cold water heat moves from hot water to cold water.

Unfortunately economists never bothered to study basic properties of wealth and under the pseudo impression that economics is a social science they ignored general laws of wealth.

Employment services is the fastest growing sector of today's economy in the U S. Pretty bad when everyone is looking for a job.
