America has won 4 wars?

there was the war for independence, they won the war with Mexico, and they won the genocidal indian wars of the 1860s. there was also WWII, which they didn't really win, they were just in the right place at the right time to reap the glory of the people who fought and died in that war. are there any others America has won or have they lost every other conflict?

Nate, I'm not talking about wars America has instigated, the list would be much longer than yours. I'm talking about wars that were WON. that means more than just parading around on tv saying "we won", you actually have to win and not lose.

America didn't win the Second World War? I think there are many veterans from a number of nations that will be very shocked to discover that. You want to ask my wife's grandfather (who faught against the US as a rifleman in the Japanese army) whether he feels like they won or lost? Somehow I don't see the residents of Nagasaki holding a yearly celebration of their victory over America.

Those things you mentioned were not that important. America would have won if it had persuaded the Vietnamese that accepting communism would mean enslaving themselves in poverty and repression. The Vietnamese learned that the hard way, and now they are trying to get out of it.

    ..... you piece of..... errr

Tell my uncle who took a bullet in Sicily we didn't fight to win WWII..... or maybe you would prefer to talk to my other uncle who was still carrying the bullet he got on Omaha beach.

    What about World War One?

What about my grandpa who was in the Navy for Korea? If he were still alive I am sure he would enjoy talking to you.

    The war of 1812?

    Desert Storm?

Let's see.... we pretty much lost the Civil War, then Vietnam.

We won WWI as much as we won WWII.

We won the war of 1812

We won the Spanish American war which is how we got Puerto Rico.

WWI is debatable. More of a treaty than a victory. Also we arrived late. The issue was settled before we arrived.

Ok you are a dumbass but I'm going to waste my time schooling you anyways.

Independence, War of 1812, Spanish American War, WW1, Mexican American War, WW2, Korean War, Kosovo, Gulf War 1, Invasion of Afghanistan, Invasion of Iraq, Indian Wars

Korean War? That's a treaty. Nobody won. Afganistan? That is still going on. And we are losing. Iraq? We won, then obama gave it back.

We've WON every war but NAM and that was because of our own politicans. We won every battle in Nam. We did WIN WW2, because without us Hitler would have won and took that crappy island in the atlantic.

Don't get upset with him people, it isn't his fault. He's probably just a closet Frenchman- they've been thanking us like that for the past 60+ years since we were in the right place at the right time to save them from being forced to learn to speak German.

The US paid dearly and DID WIN WWII, just ask the French and the rest of Europe.
