There are saturated fats (wherein the carbon chain has all the hydrogen it possible can, hence saturated), these come from animal fat.
Then there are unsaturated fats (they have hydrogen molecules missing) and come from plants.
Trans fats are unsaturated fats that have been "injected" with hydrogen to make them saturated. It is like false advertising, because sat fat is worse for your body than unsat fat.
