Hemp furniture,houses etc?

If you can build such things with the hemp plant and it makes for 10x stronger buildings and such why arent people converting all wood products to hemp would this make more enviromental sense?

    thats not all you can make i have lots of hemp clothing which is much more durable, long lasting and requires less chemicals to make than cotton, you can even make the oil from the seeds into bio-degradable plastic.

    unfortunately it isn't being used much because of its relation with other forms of cannabis sativa namely the strains containing thc (the psychoactive substance in weed) and so a lot of governments wont allow it anymore.

    in america it was legal but after it threatened to put major cotton companies out of business a court case was arranged to make it illegal.

    it is used in places like germany and canada though.
