where can i adopt a siberian husky puppy in miami, florida?
i have been wanting a husky since i was a little girl. i'm very drawn to this breed but cannot seem to find it anywhere and when i do and get the chance to go and see him or her someone either adopts them first or buys them first, last saturday i was supposed to go and see a siberian husky puppy and i called ahead of time to make sure of the puppy's availability but someone had bought her before i was able to go and see her, i was devastated, crying my eyes out and angry the whole day but yet i will not give up. as you can see i would dearly appreciate the help on information for a siberian husky puppy that is for adoption or sale near miami, florida. PLEASE AND THANK YOU!
to everyone who said a siberian husky is a bad idea in miami, FL: i am very aware with the breed of dog i have chosen and i've done weeks and months of research on what i will be dealing with. yet, i did not ask for your opinion on whether i should have the dog here or not or if i should consider another breed. how the puppy will be living is my problem and i am very sure that the puppy will be living a comfortable and wonderful life. to those who helped out and did their best to help me with what i needed, thank you alot, i appreciate it.
p.s: i didn't go to a pet shop or try to buy a puppy from a breeder or anything like that, i had gone to miami-dade animal services which is an adoption center for all kinds of dogs/puppies and cats/kittens. i had gone about weeks ago to adopt a beautiful husky puppy but when i had gotten there, she was already adopted.

Try these places. :0)
Bravo for looking into adoption!
Also keep in mind that there are services set up for transporting dogs and puppies that are up for adoption to people that are in different states for a reasonable fee.

Like some other posters, I'm definitely not trying to preach at all, I know how it feels to want a certain breed badly...
But FL is a horrible place for a Sibe. It will never be cold enough for them, they would have a lot of trouble staying comfortable. It would simply be unfair to the dog. Husky rescues are a good place to start but really, please please do some research before deciding this.
And the way you wrote this sounds like you have been in contact with a pet store about buying a puppy in thr window. If that is the case, PLEASE do not buy a puppy from a pet store, ever. Do some more research on what kind of puppies are sold there.
Huskies are beautiful dogs, which is why a lot of people want them...but they're suited for few.
Good luck...but you have a bit of research to do! :-)

I agree with the fact that miami is too hot for them. Listen to Sassy Shiba below.

Please stay away from all-breed puppy websites like puppyfind. They are a haven for bad breeders and puppymills. Unfortunately, there aren't many responsible Siberian breeders in FL due to the climate, and the only breed club is centered around Tampa Bay.
Would you consider rescue? You might try S. Florida Siberian Rescue, or Siberian Rescue of FL:
Otherwise, if you'd consider driving, check out these people:

Contact the national rescue through www.akc.org and have them put you in contact with a rescue group in your region.
That said, I can't think of a worse place for a Siberian husky to live. They are cold weather dogs and would have severe problems with the heat in Miami.

Not that there is anything wrong with huskies but you do live in miami. These dogs were bred to live north of the arctic circle and he'll be pretty hot all year round. Not trying to preach but remember its not right to get a dog because its cute and then find out they don't fit your lifestyle. Research a little more please.

Try Petfinders.com. Some of the dogs are mixes, but they do get purebreds too. I typed in the website to search Miami and copied the link below for you. Good luck.

I had a husky mix, they are wonderful dogs. If you can't find one you like anywhere, consider adopting from "dogs in danger.com" -they have alot of different breeds.

Siberian Husky Rescues. Many shelters have them as well.
