Who is the most revered, female singer-songwriter? Joni Mitchell, Patti Smith or Lucinda Williams?
All three are amazing...who in your opinion is the finest of the three if there was such a way to compare their legacy?

I'm going with Joni Mitchell. She is just fantastic, not only as a singer songwriter, but as a guitarist. She made alternate tunings mainstream. They are, I agree nearly impossible to compare, but I have a special place in my heart (and ipod) for Joni Mitchell.
