Here's what the Alaskan Independence Party has to say about that claim,

"Contrary to initial reports, Vice-President candidate Governor Sarah Palin was never a member of our party. We stand corrected. We issued a press release today. It is posted here to those members of the media who did not recieve it.

Todd Palin was registered as a member but never participated in any party activities aside from attending a convention in Wasilla at one time.

We had several hundred people attend that convention and nothing of noteworthy status took place outside of nominating the most conservative candidate up to that date to ever run for Governor of Alaska. That candidate was the sitting Lt. Governor, Jack Coghill. This man was one of the authors and signers of the Constitution of the State of Alaska."

Sarah Palin was not ever a member of the Alaska Independence Party, and even if she was, that party does not NECESSARILY advocate secession.

Their platform calls for giving Alaskans a vote on Alaskas status, which they were denied in 1959. Members of the Alaska Independence Party want Alaskans to choose between Statehood, Independence, Commonwealth status, or reversion to a Territory.

That's all. Seriously, I don't know how any American could object to the idea of letting people vote for their preferred form of Government. Puerto Rico has had several such plebiscites since being granted Commonwealth status.

Her husband was a part of the Alaskan independence group, not Palin herself.

There are so many true things that can be used to question this woman's ability to be the VP, you don't need to resort to untruths.

Alaska can't secede from the USA, only Texas can.

Palin is interested, first and foremost, in Sarah Palin. She does not give a fig for Alaska or anyone else except those who appear to be able and willing to help her climb the ladder...

    Sarah Palin never did agree

That was a false story planted by some drug addled bloggers.

That story was debunked a long time ago.

She never said that, and she was never a member of the Alaskan Independence Party.

Her husband is the seccessionist. She, of course, would never take part in such behavior.

So she can ditch out half way through with our taxes and sustain her own country.

Though if she never did agree....why was she speaking at their parties convention? Or were all those people imagining things.

Facts? Typical Liberal rant. She does not agree and never did.
