first stop might be a map to get acquainted with our fair state, orlando is in the center of the state, about midway between the atlantic ocean and the gulf of mexico. so do you want to go to the ocean, or go to orando, or both? i suggest both. if you are going to disney the disney value resorts are a lot of fun with great theming for kids, plus convenient to the parks

Well Orlando is about a 45 to 60 minute drive from the Ocean. There are plenty of hotels on lakes and ponds! If you want a hotel out a Cocoa Beach or Daytona Beach which have a lot of great and fun hotels!

    No ocean in Orlando!

There are hundreds, maybe 000s, to choose from. Suggest that you get the book "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2009" which has at least 100 reviews of Orlando hotels, plus of all the Disney and Universal hotels.

If you are thinking Disney World, also see this page on where to stay at Walt Disney World: http://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-first-fami...

    Hope this helps--Dave

Orlando is in Central Florida not on the ocean, I think you need a map first
