need help to locate battery on dell inspiron laptop does any body have any ideas?

Turn it upside down and look around the base till you see a slide button pull it across and release the main battery. The Cmos battery is small and seldom needs changing and can be difficult to get at

I assume that you are talking about a desktop pc?

If so, you need to look at the motherboard for a small battery very similar to a watch battery.

If you can tell me the model I can probably tell you exactly where it is on the motherboard, best guess it is down the bottom near the lower part of the case.
