What makes an Air traffic contoller job so stressful?

....and What good is a air traffic contoller certificategood for? Also, the difference between an A.S. and B.S degree in this field?

    The job (at least in the US) is being done with horrible systems and not enough good people. You have to be constantly on-guard, because if something goes wrong, a lot of people can die.

    Things are getting a little better, but it's still a tough way to make a living if you aren't cut out for the pace and the stress.
