# 5/6x + 1/6x=-9 please show step in solving.?

Update:

Why did some people get -9 for the answer while others got -1/9????

Relevance

5/6x + 1/6x=-9

1x = -9

x = -9

the answers can't be -1/9 in verification also LHS = RHS will be proved with -9.

Multiply both sides of the equation by 6x.

5 + 1 = -54x

6 = -54x

Divide both sides by -54.

6/-54 = x

-1/9 = x

5/6x + 1/6 x= -9

6/6 x =-9

x = -9

es decir 6/6 es = a 1 por lo tanto es x solamente

You must present the question clearly :-

(5/6) x + (1/6) x = - 9

x = - 9

5/6x+1/6x= -9

find the common denominator which is 6x in this case

(5+1)/6x= -9

6/6x= -9/1

then cross multiply

6x(-9)=6x1

-54x/-54=6/-54

x=-6/54

5/6 + 1/6 is 6/6 which is ONE. 1x = -9 implies x = -9

IF on the other hand you meant to say 5/(6x) and 1/(6x) then

that is (6/6x) = 1/x = -9 -------------> x = -(1/9)

5/6+ 1/6 is 6/6 or 1

therefore,

6/6 X= -9

1X= -9

X= -9

5/6x + 1/6x=-9

multiply both sides by 6x

5 + 1 = -54x

x = 6/(-54)
