    High

Lima ranks as the 17th most populous city in the world with a municipal population of 7,605,743, and 8,472,935 for the metropolitan area and a population density of 3,008.8 inhabitants per square kilometre (7,793 /sq mi) as of 2007.

Overall, the country of Peru is ranked 187 in the world according to population density.

The population density of the planet including all land area is about 105 people per square mile. If Antarctica is eliminated since it has zero population density, the world population density rises only to 115 people per square mile.
