What parents can do to help their autistic child?

I am doing a project on autistic children. I was wondering if people had their own opinions or if you know any helpful websites. Thank you.

love them, accept them, expose them to new experiences and reward them for tolerating new things, don't expect them to always come into your world but be willing to meet them at their world too sometimes, contentment as a goal, take the guru advice, but don't accept it as gospel, don't confuse the autism label as membership in a club--no two people with or without autism are the same! resist the temptation to compare your "autistic" child with someone else's autistic child
