Can you walk across the ambassador bridge?

I will probably be going the U of Windsor next year and I am sure I will want to go over to Detroit some times but I won't have a vehicle. So I am wondering if you can walk across the bridge. I noticed the the bridges website says "restricted" for walking or biking across.

    Hey there,

I just finished my 3rd year of undergraduate studies so I hope I can be of some help. First, there are no pedestrians allowed on the Ambassador Bridge. If you even attempt such a feat, you could be arrested and criminally charged. But, Transit Windsor, the bus service in the city, does offer a tunnel bus for a nominal fee, check out this link for more info: http://www.citywindsor.ca/001209.asp. The tunnel bus can take you to downtown Detroit and will also take you to any professional Detroit sporting events (Wings, Tigers, Lions). Additionally, there are plenty of commuter students and even residence students with access to vehicles, so once you make a few friends it shouldn't be difficult to plan a trip Stateside. If you have any other questions about UWindsor or the city, just give me a shout.
