What is 2 hydrogen atoms (H2) + 2 hyroxide atoms (OH)2?

Would that make 2 water atoms?

H2 + (OH)2 = ??

    H2 (g)+ (OH)2 ----> 2 H2O

    This equation balances, and forms water, much like acid/base equations.

    Firstly, hydroxide atoms do not exist. They exist as OH- ions.

    So 2H2 + 4OH- -> 4H2O

    If you meant 2H2 + 4OH- that would be the balanced, correct equation.
