Would that make 2 water atoms?

H2 (g)+ (OH)2 ----> 2 H2O
This equation balances, and forms water, much like acid/base equations.Source(s): brain

Firstly, hydroxide atoms do not exist. They exist as OH- ions.
So 2H2 + 4OH- -> 4H2O
If you meant 2H2 + 4OH- that would be the balanced, correct equation.
