Confederate flag: for or against it?

    Which one? There are several and they all mean the same thing.

    Come on...it's a flag, it's part of our history, and it doesn't have any power unless people give it power.

    That depends on where it is. If it's in a museum or Civil War reenactment, I'm all for an accurate representation of history. If someone is flying it outside their home to make a statement, the statement that is conveyed is that someone is unaware that the South lost (and probably Yeehaws like Howard Dean).

    It offends me greatly, It represents a terrible time in American history. You can say it doesn't all you want to but the confederate flag represents slavery and oppression. It represents what comes to my mind when I see it,and that's what comes to my mind. The rednecks who display it know full well what it represents.
