John 1:1-5 (King James Version)
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2The same was in the beginning with God.
3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Jesus is the light & life for men.He offers His light and life to men in their darkness. All evil can't comprehend what the light is.

Life comes from the Creator. Jesus was present at Creation. Nothing was made without Him. The light is Jesus. There is no darkness in Him at all. That means that He is totally good and holy and that there is no evil in Him at all. There is evidence of this light in some men and women. Those who have the light of Christ within them shine a light in this dark world where most people are in darkness.

The Lord brings spiritual life. Spiritually someone can be alive or dead. The dead are those who have not been saved.
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
Light and darkness are contrasted in the bible for good and evil. We are called to walk in the light.

The Word that existed in the beginning was simply the revelatory thought of the Eternal one.
Jesus only existed with the Father in eternity as a revelatory thought. He was not God nor did he exist as God before his birth.
God is not and never has been a "trinity". He is Elohim (Family)
That Word (revelatory Thought of God) became flesh at the Eternal Ones appointed time.
Jesus Christ was the first to enter God's Eternal Family (Elohim) via a resurrection. Jesus is God's Passover by which all mankind may now enter that Eternal Family which we also understand to be - The Kingdom of God.
Jesus is the first born of many brethren that are destined to also enter Elohim at God's appointed time.
The 144,000 are the first fruits (early harvest) that are resurrected at Christ's soon return and they then will enter Elohim.
The rest of mankind will be called at the second resurrection (Great final harvest) and will have opportunity then to enter Elohim.
Man's mind is in darkness to this truth until God calls them and gives revelation (light) to the mind of his wonderful Eternal plan.
Why doesn't Traditional Christianity understand God's plan? Honestly, they have chose there own appointed time to try and receive from God.
God say's - Keep the Sabbath. He would Not have made it a COMMANDMENT if it were not important. His Commandments are for OUR BENEFIT if we obey.
The Sabbath is a day (appointed time) Sanctified by God (set apart for Holy use) for the people that are being Sanctified (set apart for Holy use).

Swimming upstream is confusing. yet you will combat the good combat. Be happy once you're politically incorrect and you don't get the applause. for great is your reward in heaven. For this worldwide is passing away, and all its pleasures with it. existence is yet a vapor, a small occasion of time, and then comes eternity. it somewhat is nicely worth each and all of the time swimming upstream.

Lord = Spirit = Your mind.
Therefore, Your mind is your light.
