One downside to me about the PS3 is the fact that Blu-Ray Tech has been used by the US Military for a little more than a decade.
The downside about the XBox 360 is the Red Ring of Death. With these specs, you should be able to make a logically choice that is well worth your money. Personally, 360 is superior

I've had both. And as a console overall, PS3 is better. Although 360 does have some good games that PS3 doesn't.
Edit - All these people who say Xbox is better are wrong. PS3 has faster processor, better graphics, blu-ray player, looks better, doesn't have the 'ring of death' problem.

I have both and have noticed that the ps3 is much smoother at moving like in its menu or froma game back to the menu. The ps3 beats the 360 at everything in hardware speaking, but the 360 has way more potential. he ps3 only uses like 30 percent of its power, while the 360 uses all of it. That is probably why they are always getting overheated and Red ring of death.

PS3, I even have went by 3 Xbox 360's... they might desire to many issues, if not for issues... Xbox might have had my vote. as nicely how many RROD's do you spot on PS3? precisely.

PS3, fisrt of all, u can watch movies on, u cant on 360, also live is free for ps3, and xbox 360 is 4 years old, thats why it has more games, but cod and gta are originally ps3 games.

an xbox has a faster processor, has usually a 60-120 gig hard drive, it can save your music and play it any time, and the graphics card is better then a ps3s, but a ps3 is also a blu ray player.
i reccomend a 360 and a blu ray player(optional) instead of a ps3.
