The Plateau of Tibet is in southwest China.

Rising in the Tanggula Mountains in west-central China, the Yangtze flows southeast before turning northeast and then generally east across south-central and east-central China to the East China Sea near Shanghai.

The Mongolian Plateau is part of the larger Central Asian Plateau and has an area of approximately 2,600,000 square kilometres. It is occupied by Mongolia in the north and Inner Mongolia (an autonomous region of China) in the south.

The North China Plain is based on the deposits of the Yellow River and is the largest alluvial plain of eastern Asia.
