Do these lines by Joni Mitchell express a knowledge of how our universe works? How?

"We are stardust

We are golden

And we've got to get ourselves

Back to the garden."

What did you expect? Mitchell wrote those lyrics at the height of the hippie movement going from the late 60's right into the 70's. That was the hippie mantra back then. Just like John Lennon wrote in "Instant Karma" "Well we all shine on! Like the moon and the stars and the sun. Well we all shine on! On and on and on and on."

That's basically what Joni Mitchell is saying, "we are made of the stars, we are golden" "We've got to get ourselves back to the garden" back to the begginning, the garden of Eden where we once had paradise but lost it for all eternity (well while wer'e on Earth anyway) I'd say that's what it meant.
