How is the Olympic torch justified?

Question

That the Olympic torch was introduced by Hitler in 1936, and despite the whole WW2 trauma that Hitler caused, that the torch tradition was continued to be passed on and is still today, with so many supporters of it?

To me it represents the flame of death.
