How is the book "Alice in Wonderland" constructed like a card game?

I have read online that the book is suppose to be constructed like a card game. I do not see the connection between how Alice's adventures in wonderland can be interpreted as a type of card game. If so, what card game is it and how do Alice's adentures relate to it?

Alice and Wonderland represents a card game, because the Queen of Hearts, the King of Hearts, and all the soldiers are cards.

Alice Through the Looking Glass represents a chess game, because Alice has to cross the chessboard to become a queen, and the queens and kings and pawns are chess pieces.
