What are the most cost-effective printers?

Obviously printers are old cheaply because the manufacturers want you buy their ink when you run out. But which makers and models of printers are known for excellent photo results with the cheapest refills?

Edit- sorry, it's supposed to say "SOLD cheaply, not 'old cheaply!"

Epson for both the warranty and cost effectiveness.

Right now the best deal in a photo printer is the Epson Artisan 800 direct from epson.com for $130 after $170 instant rebate. It's a wireless copier/scanner/fax/photo printer with 6 individual ink cartridges for high photo quality. The best warranty in the industry. For two years, Epson will fedex a replacement and pick up the old one should you need it.

If that's beyond your budget there are several models in the $50-$80 range

    NX415 $46

NX510 wireless $80 with free shipping

Triple capacity ink cartridges for Epson are under $3 and you can get 11 free cartridges every month, as I've done for the past 6 months, at http://www.ccs-digital.com/freeink.asp

The Dell 3000cn is an dazzling laser printer, even although that's a shade printer and particularly great. whether, it expenses no longer lots better than a black-and-white printer, handles paper very nicely and has been enormously low in fee. the two shade and black-and-white prints are very reliable. Toner cartridges fee around $sixty 5 and final for a l-o-n-g time. particularly, i prefer to propose it in case you have the distance.

I think that Kodak printers are the most cost-effective for the long run because the refill black-ink cartridges are only $10 and colour is $14. That's what I'm considering to get...

I don't know the cheapest, but HP is the most expensive. If you want really cheap refills, then do it yourself. See sources
