Lord of the flies - William Golding - group of boys crash on a deserted island and turn on each other, one of the boys is killed by the group in a savage attack.

Flowers in the attic - Virginia Andrews - 4 children are locked in an attic by their mother and grandmother, the grandmother gradually poisons the children's food with arsenic until the youngest male child dies.

The Devil's Punchbowl - cant remember the author - a casino boat worker is murdered because he finds out that his boss is running an illegal dog fighting circuit and he tries to expose them, he is drugged and tries to run away but as he does so they set a dog on him who rips him to shreds and then they shoot him as he falls off a cliff's edge onto the rocks by the river.

they are the only three i can think of at the min but ill add more as i remember them!
