Where to advertise my PEI cottage rental?
I have a 4 stars cottage rental in PEI. We do advertise on some cottage portals, but we are never fully booked. what other type of advertisements can i do to improve my booking ratio, and which portals are the best to advertise on?

First thing first, you have to have a website for your cottage to include maximum amount of pictures and description. Most cottage portals has limit on amount of pictures and description. Where ever you advertise your cottage an online portal or on paper do include your website address. If you dont have a website for your cottage you can have it done by cadianda.com for about 500$, they did my site and I love their service...
Advertise your cottage on craigslist, kijiji, and all other free classified ads pages.
One of the good cottage listing page that works good for me is http://www.canadausacottages.com/ ..
I'm listed with them since 3 months and i get a fair amount of bookings through them..

Most cottage owners don’t spend every weekend up at their cottage and turn to renting to receive additional income from the property. This is great news for Canadians who are new to cottage country since they can get the full experience without investing a down payment into a property of their own. The tricky part that many new renters forget is that renting a cottage is not like booking a hotel.Source(s): https://tr.im/cottagecountryrentals

I own and operate our holiday home here in Ontario, below are some of the links to sites on which we are listed. Most of them are free, some offer free listing for 30 days, others are free for a year, others offer a free listing if you place a reciprocal link on your website.
My own website is here http://www.discover-southern-ontario.com/ just click Sunnybrook Farm - that will take you to our holiday home.
Our place is completely booked for July and August, and about 50% for April, May and September, so I'm pretty happy about that.
At the moment, 50% of my bookings are coming from those sites, the remainder are coming from my own website.
EDIT: Here are a few more on which my Guest Suite is listed - some used to be free but now they charge a fee, but they might be worth checking out.
I notice there are none in PEI, you would be the only one listed - http://www.click4holidayhomes.com/Property-List&Se...
http://www.letsrent2me.com/search.php - there are only 3 listed in Canada (2 of those are mine!)
http://www.vacationrentalpeople.com/vacation-renta... - this one costs money, but I have had a lot of bookings from this one
http://canada-vacationrentals.com/propertydetails.... - never had a booking from this one, but its free
http://www.domegos.co.uk/Search/Result - again, there is only one listing in PEI
http://www.holidayhomescanada.com/ - only 2 in PEI
http://www.perfectplaces.com/Canada/Prince_Edward_... - 2 listed in PEI
http://www.scenicrentals.com/register.php - $45 for a 12 month listing - if you only get one booking for one day, you will have got your money back!
Good Luck - check those out if you like, I'd start with the free ones, then look into the ones you have to pay for.
I advertise on most of those and we are really busy this year, which is our 5th year in business.
