    Hi Tim

There are many levels of the nursing profession that come under the professional title "nursing."

Since you are looking for scholarships, money is an issue as well.

Here is one way to reasonably fulfill your goal.

There are 8 2-year colleges in Chicago that offer the Registered Nurse [RN] program without breaking the bank.

Once you get that, see if you can get a weekend job as Director of Nursing at a nursing home [long term care facility] where you get paid for 40 hours while working 2 12 hour shifts. Then, Monday through Friday you can work on your BSN and perhaps become certified in one of the highly paid specialties such as RN-Anesthetist.

I know several people who did it this way - in one case, the hospital where she worked weekends in its rehab unit paid her tuition and fees for the BSN and specialization courses and tests.

    Here are the schools:

    City Colleges of Chicago:

    - Harry Truman campus

    - Kennedy-King campus

    - Malcolm X campus

    Moraine Valley Community College

    Palos Hills, IL

    Morton College

    Cicero, IL

    Oakton Community College

    Des Plaines, IL

South Suburban College of Cook County

    South Holland, IL

    Triton College

    River Grove, IL
