Given k and x, how to find mass?

A particle attached to a spring with k = 51 N/m is undergoing simple harmonic motion, and its position is described by the equation x = (6.0 m)cos(7.4t), with t measured in seconds. What is the mass of the particle?

    The angular frequency ω = √k/m

    ω = 7.4 rad /s and k = 51N/m

    m= k /ω^2 = 51/7.7/7.4 = 0.9 kg.

    You know the angular frequency w = 7.4. In simple harmonic motion for springs, w = sqrt (k/m). You know w and k, find m.
