Recommended novels and books!?

Now that I have finished college and have a lot more free time I was wondering does anyone have any novels they would recommend or true story novels or even some confidence building books etc.

Thanks ('',)

Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth and World Without End. Historical fiction. Favorites among architects. Jacqueline Carey's Kusiel series. Only if you like epics. Robin Hobb's Live Ship Series. Sea serpents, dragons, pirates, wars, ships that can talk.
