Would you accept pre loved baby clothes if.........?

Would you mums out there feel weird or awkward accepting pre loved and brand new baby clothes if the baby they had been worn by or intended for had died?

Just asking opinions

Update:

Actually, it was my baby who passed away, and i have a lot of friends expecting, so things are weird enough as it is (everyone is tiptoeing around me, but i am happy for them all). I just want to know generally how people feel before i ask my friends, and possibly make them feel awkward. I know one girl who would definately feel awkward, but im not sure of the others. Or maybe i should just give them to a charity shop.

I wouldn't feel weird, so long as I knew the mother was really happy for me. I MIGHT be concerned about your feelings though. I mean, you thought of your baby wearing this outfit when they came home from the hospital. Now you look at my baby in it, and maybe you feel sad or like it's twisting a knife or putting salt in your wound. I would be scared of hurting you, to be honest. The clothes, wouldn't matter.

I probably would feel awkward, but some people probably wont, especially if they really need the clothing. and Im very sorry to hear that you lost your baby. I couldnt possibly imagine what I would do if something happened to my son. Im so sorry and even though we do not know each other, I will pray for you and your family as you go through this tough time.

My kids wear second-hand clothes all the time (all in great condition, of course) and I would totally put them in clothes from your baby or another baby who had passed. Maybe if you ask them and tell them that it would bring you joy or you would love to pass on the clothes that you got to put your bundle of joy in, then they would more easily accept them. Actually, for the new clothes, if no one has seen them, you don't need to provide any explanation and you could easily give them. If I was your friend and I knew you were fine with it and it wouldn't ever upset you, I would proudly accept your kind donation. I'm very, very sorry for your loss. You must be a great person to be thinking of how to bless others at this time. God Bless You!

To be honest, it is intirelly your choice. I would accept them. But if you saw your friends baby in them would that not remind you of your little one? Would it be to hard on you?

If so then might pay to give them to a shop.

I am sorry to hear about your loss, here if you need anyone to talk to take care and you do what you feel to be right.

All of my baby's clothes are pre-worn.

    Why?:

    Inexpensive

They are good clothes that were worn by babies for less than 3 months

    The baby doesn't care

I don't understand why people buy expensive baby clothes when they only wear them for a short time. If you can get hand me downs go for it!

I wouldn't feel awkward but I do think that it would upset me. Every time I saw my baby in the clothes I would think about the parents who didn't get to enjoy them. I can see myself getting very upset, very often. Not a stress moms need.

Probably not...every time you see your baby in them be thankful that you were blessed enough to have another day with him/her where the other parents didn't have that opportunity. It's no like the baby died in them anyway.

  • No, I don't think I could...too emotionally loaded.

personally i wouldnt accept them unless they still had the tags on them.

they spew, pee and poop all the time as babies and those germs are in their clothing fibres when they have accidents every now and then
