could you help me with this math problem?!?

Set up and solve a system of equations for each problem. Clearly identify what each variable is representing.

1. A collection of 84 quarters and dimes is worth $15.30. How many of each type pf coin are there?

    let x= number of dimes

    let y= number of quarters

    x+y=84

    .1x+.25y=15.3

    x=84-y

    .1(84-y)+.25y=15.3

    8.4-.1y+.25y=15.3

    .15y=6.9

    y=46

    x=38

    so we know the following two equations...

    .25x+.10y = 15.30

    x+y=84

    x = quarters, y = dimes

    multiply the bottom equation by .1 and subtract the two equations to get:

    .15x=6.9 which x=46

    plug x into the second equation and y = 38
