Is anybody else concerned about rising poverty rates and income inequality?
Take a walk in any major city and you see people who live in poverty. Not all of these people are in poverty because of bad mistakes. Some were born into it and can't escape it. They can't go to school or afford health care. American wages have stagnated and it's because of trickle down economics. We need to fix that.

We would have to undo everything from the 1980s on. Bring back unions, with high paying jobs, start manufacturing everything from clothes to cars and electronics, etc. In other words bring back the middle class. Americans with good paying jobs can afford superior American made products giving us a strong economy. That was the American dream. The only reason why small businesses are now America's largest employers is because Reaganomics and all that went with it killed off big business which until then had been America's employers. Remember companies like Bethlehem Steel, Eastern Airlines, Pan Am, savings and loans? These are the casualties of Reaganomics.

People that have money are being very careful with it right now. I can't blame them for being cautious. Therefore, not much money is being spent in the economy to allow it to grow and provide jobs for the middle and lower classes. So, what is so hard to understand about that. You can complain and make fun of "trickle down" economics all you want, but that is simply the way the system works.
Even the Administration understands that to a degree and wants to allow the tax cuts to be extended to help small businesses. Who is that? Generally people that make more than $100,000 and yes, even more than $250,000. So, we can cut taxes on just the middle and lower incomes and that will provide some benefit as it will allow some people to make purchases that they otherwise would have put off. But, if we give the tax cuts to the upper middle class and above, they will often invest that back into the companies to hire more people.

The media don't seem to make a big deal of it when Democrats are in power.
It will be addressed when Republicans return to power.

How did trickle-down economics cause it? it cut unemployment down from 10% to 5%, middle class income more than doubled, inflation went from 12% to 3%, US GDP doubled, tax revenue for programs doubled. We need more, more, more, trickle-down economics to decrease poverty.

It doesn't matter who we vote in, they won't do anything. The American people need to do something. Problem is, there isn't much the people can do.
