Depends. As long as she is guiding her properly and applying discipline when needed. A teen needs a parent more than she needs that parent to be a friend. Since teens hate discipline the friend thing usually does not work too well. However some parents do not want to parent so they try to be the friend. I don't think it is good for the teen.

Why..............does she also want to behave like a teenager.....................not really a good idea.

A mother needs to be close, to her daughter, but NOT her friend.

Mother is the best friend to her daughter.

She too has crossed her teen age.
