You absolutely right: a 2008 study performed by Henning found that a five times larger absorption of green tea catechins (strong antioxidants) is possible when combined with lemon juice or other juices high in phenolic acids (pH) such as grapefruit, orange or lime.
Another study (Green, 2007) even adds that with lemon a staggering 80% of tea’s catechins remain (this percentage is lower with the other juices)!
In regards to honey; honey is a good alternative to plain sugar. It's a natural sweetener and healthier for you. However to get the most health benefits, it's best to leave out any sweetener and learn to drink it all natural!
The more catechins are absorbed, the more health benefits you get from drinking green tea. Some of the alleged health benefits are preventing acne, rejuvenating your skin, preventing a high blood pressure, boosting your metabolism (helping to lose weight), and even preventing some types of cancer.
It's worth a try don't you think?
Good luck! I hope this information was useful for you.
