Is canada pulling its troops from afghanistan and why? 10 POINTS?

    Canada's combat role ends at the end of 2011 HOWEVER there will be troops that will stay to train the Afghan police force, for the next few years. It is unknown how long.

    Canada is pulling it's troops from combat because the conservatives had already extended their promise to Canadians. Originally, Canada was suppose to be out in 2009 but it was extended to 2011 and just months ago, the government announced plans to keep some troops in Afghanistan going forward for non combat roles. It is expected that about 1000 Canadian troops will stay in Afghanistan post 2011.

    Yes. I believe late this year. Canada is becoming this hemisphere's Sweded: "Let someone else fight and die. I'll save my money."

    Sweden was neutral in both world wars.
