Do you like this poem?
In a world so simple, and dull, and plain,
Where all is about following trends and crowds,
These rules of society drove me insane,
They made me yell up, deep into the clouds.
I prayed to the heavens to send me a sign,
My prayer, fulfilled, with a gift of the skies,
Sent to me, a princess, with beauty divine,
On first sight didst she lighten my eyes.
A blessing, sent me, too good to last,
two separate paths which drove us apart,
the problem between us, a distance so vast,
yet there always lays a place for you in my heart.

Its clever, I like it. One suggestion, if you want to make it a little more classical, add an extra two rhyming lines and you'll have a Shakespearean sonnet.
