why do they take your blood in the emergence room?

    To assure they have the correct diagnosis.

    Even if you have something like a broken bone,

    a blood smear can indicate if you are developing

    blood clots. or even if the break is from bone

    weakening from diseases like leukemia

    Sneaker Head, They take blood because it will give them clues about what is wrong, they can tell if u have infection, wheather ur Anemic, they can even tell by ur blood that u are having a Heart Attack, so there are many reasons for drawing Blood. Good Luck

    It depends on why you were there, you probably should give more information. And no, they weren't testing for drugs or any other thing that is not specific to your condition.
