Question

How do you describe in one word, the smell of sand when it rains...?

There is a specific word for it, and it gets really frustrating not to really find it.,.. Please do help!

The smell of sand, or mud, or clay, when it becomes wet with rain...

Well, I could be very sure that I've come across it, just not able to catch it!

In 60 years of using English I have not come across such a word. Is that sand at the seaside or in a dessert? If seaside then possibly 'salty'.
