R&P: What are some good songs that reference a sport?
I'll make a long story short. Last night, my 18 year old daughter came by to visit my fiancée and I. She's back in her hometown of Toronto for a few days, however, yesterday was special, she showed me a ring on her finger and said "Dad, I'm engaged". The lucky man came by a little later and to put it simply I was overjoyed. Overjoyed, and overwhelmed by this mass of humanity. I never have felt so small (I'm 6'2", 195) as I did next to him. I won't say what position but he's a member of the defensive unit for the Syracuse University Orange and stands 6'4" and weighs in as he put it, at "340 lbs. but my playing weight is 300". My daughter is attending Syracuse U, where she intends to enroll in Grad School in a couple of years to study Broadcast Journalism, in hopes to becoming a sportscaster or writer. They let it be known that they have no intentions to marry while attending college. Ok, ok, here we go..
MQ: What are some good songs that reference a sport in the title and/or lyrics?
BQ: Who is your favorite "BIG" (size wise) artist?
BQ2: I was in an exchange program with the University of Michigan while attending University in Montréal and have ever since been a supporter of the U of Michigan Wolverines, now I have to change my allegiances to the Big East and the Syracuse U Orange..Do you follow NCAA Colllege Football and if so what school do you support?
BQ3: What sports are you involved in, whether as a paticipant or follower of?
BQ4: What's a good song for me to dedicate to my daughter and her fiancée?
Thank you. Enjoy your day my fellow Rock and Poppers!
Thanks Toke Lover! I forgot all about Tom Cochrane, "Big League' is great..

It's an era old issue that a lot of bettors are affected with all their lives. If you're able to manage to keep dropping month after month, then at the very least you're able to hold trying. But the truth is, you are only seeking in the useless trust that one time you'll seize that big win and every thing will soon be all right again and this you can just make it happened here https://tr.im/8i7Vz with Zcodes System.
The support team is awesome; they keep the info new and updated! That isn't anything someone only whipped together and decided to offer to whomever. Hey now Harvey. So very happy for you and even happier for your daughter. Wow. When any family "expands" it's a great thing! What a nice question to answer today :)
MQ: Fried Hockey Boogie - Canned Heat
I don't follow NCAA football as much as basketball but here in CT, we have the Huskies and their football team is really starting to come along. We did win the Papa John Bowl this past year. Woohoo!
I use to play softball in school and continued in women's & mixed leagues for years. I did some women's flag football. And I also bowled (duck pin) for over 20 years on leagues as well.
You've Made Me So Very Happy - Blood, Sweat & Tears
*edit: sure, I'll make a friendly wager w/ya Harvey. Whatta ya want to bet? Hmmmm? ;)

10cc - Dreadlock Holiday
For the repeated lyrics "I don't like cricket, I love it!"
Also it's a really good, chilled out piece of music.
Queen - Bicycle Race
The song isn't really about racing a bike, but the title suggests otherwise!
(whilst I would love nothing more than to post the original video, neither my employer, nor Yahoo! condones it.)
Fleetwood Mac - The Chain
This song doesn't reference sport at all, but it IS the theme tune to Formula 1 racing - the really, really cool bass section that goes like: boom, bum-bum-bum, bum-bum-bum-bum-bum, boooooooom.
Aaron Neville - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soO0CMnU9Bo
Meatloaf - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rptwyZS5Rw
BQ2: Afraid not, I'm British!
BQ3: Football (soccer?) - I am both a participant and follower
Cricket - I am both a participant and follower
Pool/Snooker - I am both a participant and follower
I watch rugby, Moto GP, Formula 1, Golf, Darts, Tennis, UFC, boxing, NFL, NHL.. absolutely any sport I can find on TV.
BQ4: Don't You Forget About Me
Ha ha I'm joking, of course she won't!

Football seasons coming upon us Harvey!!!
Yah, woo hoo!!!
Scrum - Slayer
I don't know about the folks in Alabama thinking football is their state sport. Here in PA we've got a pretty good tradition of football ourselves with the Pitt Panthers, Nittany Lions and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Congrats on your kid getting engaged!
Here's a great fight song!
Here's a song to dedicate to your daughter & her new fiance'e.

Hey there, Harvey! ☺
Congrats to your daughter getting engaged!
MQ: "Centerfield" by John Fogerty
EDIT: Gah, someone beat me to it! XP
I'll suggest another song: "We Who Are About To Die" by Evile
Based on the gladiatorial games in Ancient Rome, does that count?
BQ1: Meat Loaf.
BQ2: No, I don't Sorry. ^^;
BQ3: I follow Mixed Martial Arts (MMA); that's my favorite sport, I love it! Don't participate in sports anymore ever since I got out of high school. When I was in high school, I played volleyball, football/soccer, and basketball (but I really sucked at that lol).
BQ4: "All You Need is Love" by The Beatles is all that comes to mind. If I can think of a better one, I'll edit.
@rock and metal forever: Oh, that's alright. I snooze I lose. I suggested another song anyway. =P
