'Game changer in evolution' found [Y/A news 9/11/2011] and so yet once more...?

As the article states 'the books will be rewritten'.

How many times have those books been rewritten?

But the 5 books of Moses and the Prophets have not been rewritten in the millenia since originally written. For the books of Moses[in Hebrew], it has been 3500 years. The Greek of the New Testament is still the Greek in which it was written.

The facts of the bible have stood since "In the beginning...", 'evolution is 'rewritten' every new bone found in the dirt -

And some claim 'evolution is a fact' - wtf

Update:

@Random Panther - not as much as 'rewritten the book' is a catch-phrase for evolution.

Update 2:

@Richard B - 'the O.T. is a oral tradition'? Then what was it that was put in the ark which was carried by the Levites for 500 years until the ark[and the 10 Commandments WRITTEN by Moses] was put in the temple built by Solomon in the 10th century BC?

1 & 2 Samuel were WRITTEN by Samuel in the 11th century BC.

Joshua was written by Joshua as the children of Israel went into Canaan in the 15th century BC.

There is no 'oral tradition' as God commanded His words be written down by His prophets, as they did. Deuteronomy(the 'book' of the Covenant[Moses-15th century BC]) was found during the reign of Josiah, king of Judea[6th century BC.] in the temple of God after being lost for a time.

Trying to 'rewrite' history, as you do, does not work as well as rewriting a book of evolution.

Update 3:

All you promoters of 'scientific method' - have you applied it to Genesis1-3?

When you do, you will find the 'scientific method' proves Gen1-3. - deny that!

Update 4:

"Constantly changing the facts"? WTF!!? Facts do not change.

Update 5:

@ Richard B. - According to the New American Heritage Dictionary a theory is an: 1. assumption 2. supposition 3. speculation

or, as you say, a 'guess'.

I call it a sensationalist headline. No books will be rewritten. The discovery simply increases our understanding and adds to the mountains of evidence that already prove that every living thing on this planet has evolved from lower forms.

perfect example of the difference between the scientific method, in use for the past 400 years and the system of belief most people use for thousands of years.

belief does not change in the face of new information that is more accurate, or previously unknown

Change is what science does . a scientific Theory is NOT, an Absolutely certain unchanging fact"

a fact is a simple observation, then guesses called hypothesis to explain the observation are made and tested .

when experiments or observation support the guess as useful it is called a (working) theory

if you learn the history of the old and new testment you will learn that it is now certain beyond any doubt from internal and external evidence that:

1 the OT was an oral tradition haded down for thousands of years before it was written about 900 BC . there are at least Two and probably four different Genesis stories

the New Testement gospels were the same story written by some unknown persons sometime after 90 AD

the bible appears to be teaching moral stories and is not and never was a book of "facts"

the very idea of scientific testable predictable true was completely unknown to people of that era

Jesus may have understood some common Greek as most people of the itme did but he almost cerainly spoke Aramaic, only educated priestly class jews would be fluent in Hebrew

    learn before you rant

The details change, not the basics of the theory.

Interpretation of the Bible changes every few years, new translations come out with changed wording, and beliefs about what various passages mean change regularly, but for some reason believers don't think that negates the whole thing. Why the double standard?

If you think beliefs about the Bible have never changed you've never studied the topic in historical context. These examples should suffice for now:

"Scripture simply says that the moon, the sun, and the stars were

placed in the firmament of the heaven, below and above which heaven

are the waters... It is likely that the stars are fastened to the

firmament like globes of fire, to shed light at night... "

    - Martin Luther, Luther's Works. Vol. 1. Lectures on Genesis, ed.

Janoslaw Pelikan, Concordia Pub. House, St. Louis, Missouri, 1958,

    p. 30.

"Those who assert that 'the earth moves and turns'...[are] motivated

by 'a spirit of bitterness, contradiction, and faultfinding;'

possessed by the devil, they aimed 'to pervert the order of

nature.'" - John Calvin, sermon no. 8 on 1st Corinthians, 677,

cited in John Calvin: A Sixteenth Century Portrait by William J.

    Bouwsma (Oxford Univ. Press, 1988), A. 72

If people don't believe that now, does that mean that the Bible is false?

"The facts of the bible have stood since "In the beginning...",..."

    I know...

AND, it's filled with lotsa ignorant mistakes:

    Bats are not birds.

Rabbits do not chew their own cud.

    Rabbits do not have hoofs.

    Pi does not equal 3.

The Earth is not a circle.

    The earth is not flat.

The cure for leprosy is not rubbing birds blood all over a person.

    Snakes can't talk.

    Donkeys can't talk.

People can't float to the sky.

People can’t walk on water(except Cris Angel).

    Etc

"evolution is 'rewritten' every new bone found in the dirt"

Yeah... cos as we add knowledge the picture changes.

Surely you don't believe the same stuff as you believed when you were seven.

Surely you don't still believe in Santa and the Bunny.

Anthropology uses morphology as a means of determining ancestry and is basically always rewriting time lines. The more ancient the discovery the more information we have to put into a puzzle that has many pieces missing.

You cannot compare a sacred text to a science book. A science book is not a sacred text.

If you think it is you are vastly mistaken.

The fact that evolution theory keeps being revised and improved upon is because there is this thing called scientific progress. The (highly debatable) fact that a skrol has never been rewritten only means it represents an ancient point of view.

  • Books that never change stay as wrong as they were when they were written. Books that change to fit the facts get steadily closer to the truth.

Evolution is for grownups. You wouldn't understand.

Yes and the evolutionist like to say it is a FACT, yet something new is discovered constantly that changes the FACTS.

Sheesh,is ''bones found in the dirt'' going to become a new creationist catch phrase.
