It's the idea that somehow, God himself decided what the borders of Israel should be, and that those borders are essentially religious in nature in terms of defining what kind of state should be within its limits.

It is wrong on so many levels, where to start?

-Historically, it doesn't have a leg to stand on. Most Old Testament tales of a powerful Hebrew state have been debunked by modern historians as mostly wishful thinking.

-Furthermore, if occupancy is what defines a people, then not being on a land for several thousands of years basically means you no longer occupy it. Therefore, any claims to it is moot at that point.

-Then there's this whole idea the text is infaliable. Well, that's just silly and the more educated rabbis will be the first ones to tell you so.

-It's also wrong for violating international law as to how this whole occupancy thing should work.

-Zionism is also an agressive invasion mentality. You can't gain land that way, at least not since World War II. It's the very principle the U.N. was founded on.

-Israel is the only modern-style democracy to define citizenship first and foremost in terms of religious affiliation. There is a deep paradox there.

-Not to mention what is being done in practice to further this agenda is simply inhumane.
