You might find following site/links helpful:

If film title is green, you can click on it and read a synopsis of the plot.

If you like romantic-comedy, you may like the 1997 film "The Matchmaker."

The 1996 film "The Brylcream Boys," set during WWII, features a small role by Jean Butler, the principle female dancer from "Riverdance."

In the crime/thriller genre, I can recommend 2000's "Snatch" (rated R for violence), starring Brad Pitt, Jason Statham (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0208092/)

For Rome, all I can think of is the classic 1953 Audrey Hepburn pic, "Roman Holiday" (which she won her Oscar).
