I'm thinking about writing a story for my Writing class... so I need some names that would Asian babies (male/female).

    Well, it depends on whether you want Mandarin, Cantonese, or English names. I'll give you Mandarin and English... I don't know Canto. I personally love more interesting names on Chinese kids.

    Gianna is Italian. Would your relatives that speak Asian languages be able to say the name? What is the last name? Gianna Xiu might sound strange. These are things to consider but in the end, if you love the name, its a nice name, go ahead and use it.

    Which country is Asia are you thinking of? There are not just 'Asian' names; you can have Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese names, etc.

    Just like there aren't 'European' names.

    I live in Hong Kong, and a lot of my Chinese friends have simple names like Rachel, Anna, Jasmine, Jessica, Amy and the like.
