When it comes to oil drilling the oil compainies use thousands or millions of gallons of water to create pressure, another is that the chemicals used in the water are acidic and unhealthy for the environment and can seep into people's wells or seep to the surface. The third most likely be not all oil companies recycle the water therefore it is water that is wasted. (trust me i know these are the right answers, Ian in college to be an Environmental Engineer) Another could be too that it slowly depletes the water supply in the rivers or lakes
