what is the difference between a insect bite and a blister?

I have a white lump on my big toe and it is painful.

I am not sure if it is an insect bite or a blister!

Insect bites can cause a blister-like lump. You would know if you were wearing ill fitting shoes or in some way injured your toe. If you haven't then consider that it is a insect bite.
