The FIRST Keystone Pipeline (yeah, there is one) has sprung leaks about every month. Should take this one slooooow.

BUT...why do Republicans filibuster the American Jobs Act, which would’ve created 2 million jobs...then piss and moan about 10k jobs?

NO . The pipeline is in simple terms for the oil businesses to apply the Texas refineries and then off to the international markets leaving the US with the pollutants . Drilling facilitates have ot only resumed interior the Gulf they have quadrupled interior the final 10 years and hundreds have been issued and set idle . there is not any grant undertaking and insist is down . As accepted the oil speculators are using up costs this time using uncertainty in Iran as an excuse as we get little or no oil from there and Britain hasn't offered Iranian oil in over a 365 days . fee gouging and speculators are raping the US returned. the US nonetheless exports diesel , airplane gasoline , and confident , gasoline . Spring is coming , love is interior the air , bend over u.s. .

Because it is a sweetheart deal tied to unrelated tax legislation. Its the kind of thing Republicans have pointed to when they complain about how earmarks and pork have hurt our national interest. It is akin to tying gay rights legislation to the farm bill: there is no place for the Keystone pipeline in the tax break conversation.

Why does Exxon Mobile keep closing down refineries in the U.S. despite making record profits and employing U.S. citizens? The answer to that is to artificially raise the price of gas.

I don't understand why Obama not allowing a pipeline that would do more harm than good is more offensive to people than private companies shutting down profitable U.S. oil refineries, literally just to be able raise gas prices again.

Obama is on the ropes and he needs every vote he can muster just so he isn't beaten by a landslide...he is desperate so he is kissing the azzes of his tree hugging base. He could not care less if the Keystone pipeline could create jobs and lower our fuel costs.

First, the employment numbers are inflated. The concern is the environmental damage that could be caused by the pipeline.

A job won't do you much good if your water supply is poisoned.

It's a win-win for his administration -- 1) keeps America dependent on unreliable energy sources such as solar and imported oil 2) prolongs the crisis he so badly needs to (in his words) "fundamentally transform" America from a great nation into one that is second rate.

Obama is not obstructing it. There is one section of the pipeline that is under review for alternative routes. Plus the 10k gobs number has never been verified. Jobs estimates have been everywhere from a few hundred to 1,000,000. It will also probably have little influence on our oil costs.
